Different Art Styles in Videogames 

When making a videogame you have different choices for art styles and graphics. 

For example it could be Anime Art Style or Realistic, examples could be Persona 4 or Battlefield 4.

Persona 4 has a use of Anime style and Battlefield has a realistic type or art/graphics.
Both art styles and graphics in which for example could be representative for different genres of games. 
This means that a game like Battlefield or Call of Duty has a better usage of realistic graphics, and a Persona 4 suits better Anime style. If its a shooter the creators try to submerge the player in a war in which a realistic style helps the developers. 
In a game like Persona the character development will be more extravagant and it will have "rare" and innovative design and it will be difficult to represent them in real life, that is why an Cartoon/Anime style suits it better and does a better job.

Different Art Styles in Websites

There are different styles for Websites,In this case we can see the Sky sports website in which has a realistic type to reinforce the feeling of sports. It also promotes the sports worldwide using the media. 

Real pictures have to be used for this example because it wouldn't suit using any type of design or animation to demonstrate moments of a match or a certain sport moment. 


Also websites can be designed with Graphic Design/3D Animation or sketches which also promote their work. 

In this example for the Line Art Studios web we can see how the graphic design and illustrations are used to decorate the website and also promote their work.
